Our trip to Italy was everything we hoped it would be, and all of the arrangements and recommendations made by your company enhanced our experience. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in handling the changes to our group prior to departure, and also for the wonderful birthday cake you arranged for our son while we were in Venice towards the end of our stay. Arranging private ground transportation for our arrival and departure from each city was a great convenience for our group. All of our guides were excellent, and I know that the shoppers in our group especially appreciated the driver that took them shopping outside of Florence. He also took our group to Siena and San Gimignano the day before – I wish I had his name so I could recommend him specifically to you future clients.
Each of us had our own favorite experiences. While everyone loved Florence for different reasons, Rome was my favorite place, and I would like to return for a longer stay there – but at a different time of year. I think Venice was the least favorite place our group visited, possibly because it was at the end of our trip and did not offer as much for our group as Florence and Rome – but we expected this prior to the trip and planned for it. The children enjoyed everyplace with pizza and gelato.
Some things that worked well for our group included:
– mix of guided tours and independent time each day
– advance purchase of tickets to major attractions
– accommodations in Rome and Florence
– private shopping day with driver (God bless him)
– winery tour & lunch recommended by our guide during the Tuscany day trip
A few things we have done differently:
– upgraded accommodations in Venice (we should have accepted the more modern recommended property you recommended prior to trip
– Florence pizza and gelato event: this would have been better for our group if it had been Florence city center and if it had ended about an hour earlier. The long drive to the countryside was a surprise for our group at the end of a long day.
I expect that we will return to Italy to see new cities and regions as well as to further explore places that we enjoyed from this trip. When we do, we will definitely work with your company. Until then, we are recommending your company to any of our friends and family that may be considering a visit to Italy.
