The trip went much, much better than I had expected. You and your local associates are to be commended in providing a confident, friendly and fantastically organized vacation for us. I really cannot tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity that I had to relax on this holiday. It was so very pleasant to not be worried with any of the arrangements.
My comments in the review like are genuine. I would recommend your services without qualification, and I hope to soon have the opportunity to be one of your clients again.
I hope that you will not be disturbed if I would comment upon just two areas which I think could be improved:
I would not send any future clients of yours to the Osteria Vecio Fritolin restaurant in Venice. The staff there was very nice, quite friendly. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the food. The food was quite poor. Actually, I am sorry to say that this was probably the worst dinner out that I have had in several years. The poor quality of the food was compounded by the distance of the restaurant from our hotel, which was quite inconvenient (but of course would be tolerable if the dinner was even close to worthwhile, which it certainly was not).
I would also comment that the tour guide at Pompeii was not up to the standards of the tour guides at other areas. This gentleman was obviously very knowledgeable about the area. However, he unfortunately presented his knowledge as if he were lecturing to large room full of grade school students rather than three adults. He was almost barking at us with little regard for questions or discussion. Most concerning was that he was resistant to modifying the tour in order to accommodate the limited mobility of my 75 year old mother, who was having trouble with the stairs and stone paths. When I asked him to end the tour, he seemed quite frustrated with me and responded loudly: “Oh for Heaven’s sake! Well I do not want to run through it!”
I would not dwell too much on these two somewhat negative items, as they were certainly overshadowed by the remaining portions of this glorious vacation.
I also wanted to mention that idea of loaning me the mobile telephone was absolutely fantastic. It made me feel so very secure in knowing that I had help at my fingertips if I ever needed it.
AND, I so very much appreciated that you called me and quickly rectified matters when I accidentally missed my train station in Rome. If I were not a client of yours, that incident would have been a disaster. I am so impressed to have received a call from your office only minutes after we missed disembarking at the Rome-Tiburtina station. Thank you for that.
Matteo, I have so much more to thank you for. And I would also like to again thank the guides and drivers, particularly Danielle and Salvatore. They were all fantastic.
