“Hi Daniela,
Before any more time passes, I want to thank you for all your help with our trip and let you know how it went.
All the arrangements you organized worked perfectly.
The hotels had our reservations with all the correct details, the guides showed up on time and were good, the tickets and vouchers and car reservation were all in order. We are very glad we had your help and would not have been able to put together a trip like that on our own …….
The guides were very good, and made our visits in each place so much better than we would have had with just a guidebook. The best guides were Patrizia in Assisi, Ulrich in Lucca, and Irene in Rome — all were terrific ……
Of the places we visited, we especially liked Cortona, Volterra, and Lucca. Assisi was also very good and our guide there made it really interesting. We liked the Appian Way excursion in Rome, and the Franciscan monastery of La Verna in Casentino was peaceful and lovely.
Among the high points of the trip: the cooking class at Osteria di Passignano was terrific, and the meal afterwards was fabulous. Definitely one of the best things we did on this trip. We also liked the winery tour and tasting at Poggio Antico in Montalcino. The meal at Ristorante Sabatini in Rome was great, and a lovely welcome on our first day .……..
Overall, the itinerary was a good one, but a bit ambitious for the time we had available. If I were to plan this trip again, I probably would have stayed overnight in 3 cities rather than 4, with less driving time and more free time for exploring on our own. But that’s the sort of impression we get only after we have come home. In view of what we wanted and the amount of time we had to spend, I don’t think you could have done any better in planning the trip.
So…thank you again for all your efforts and your expertise. You helped us have a really good trip to Italy. If we go there again in the near future, we will certainly contact you for assistance. And please feel free to use us for references.
With best regards and thanks,
Elena”
