We are happily back from wonderful Puglia. Everything worked out nicely. The restaurants you picked were outstanding – we just need to go on a diet, now.
Also the cooking class was a lot of fun and gave good information about the preparation of Italian food in general. The kitchen is also very nice great chef.
The Restaurant we liked the best was Bros in Lecce. Young entrepreneur and full of fantastic gourmet ideas.
The best guide we had is Antonio in Matera. We were astonished about the place.
The bike ride was a good exercise in the Valley around Alberobello. We all loved it and it was an easy ride through the lovely landscape.
The Hotel we liked the most was the one in Lecce – very competent friendly personnel, nice breakfast buffet and wonderful rooms. Unlucky, it was too cold for the garden.
The Masseria was nice too, we had Pasquetta Lunch there. Excellent food for dozens of people. The room height and the shower there turned out a bit tricky for tall people.
Breakfast was good. There was not much going on after Eastern at that place, so they would not have offered drinks or little snacks, when they saw you returning. Which would have been nice to offer.Everything was clean and well kept, friendly.
Mare Resort: nice central location. We asked for other rooms because the once reserved for us basically had just small windows on the floorlevel, so you could only see outside while laying on the bed. We payed extra to get a full view window. Breakfast area was on the roof top, but not a really great zone. Also cleanness of the rooms and bathrooms was below there possibilities. The shower had rusty and moldy areas ( for a relative new hotel). The receptionists were very helpful and friendly.
Your recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants options were highly appreciated and liked. In the end we even had time for the cathedral in Bari.
So we should start thinking about more areas in Italy to visit… ?.
Thank you for making this trip a wonderful experience and memory.
